The Role
The Equipment Authority Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical and operational management of equipment used in the maintenance of moorings and aids to navigation. This includes ensuring compliance with safety standards, optimising equipment performance and providing expertise in asset management. The role is a senior management position. Among other duties, it will entail providing reports in strict timelines and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
Principal Responsibilities
- Oversee the selection, maintenance, and performance monitoring of all equipment used in aids to navigation maintenance.
- Develop and implement equipment strategies to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards governing marine equipment.
- Support the development of maintenance schedules and asset management plans.
- Ability to manage a small team and ensure compliance is maintained
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and suppliers.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to the maintenance team regarding equipment use and best practices.
The Candidate
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Marine Operations or a related technical field
- Recognised Health and Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH or IOSH) desirable but not essential
- Certifications relevant to equipment management or asset maintenance
- Further education in Business Management or Financial Planning is desirable but not essential
