Saw Operator

We are one of the leading manufacturers in the manufacture and installation of architectural metalwork in the north of England, serving many blue-chip companies with the procurement of our metalwork.
Due to expansion, we are now on the lookout for a Saw Operator to join our team in Liversedge.
Main duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate saws in a safely and effect manner
- Unloading of lorries, identify and store all stock material entering steelyard
- Checking material allocated to be cut, length, width, thickness, spec, cast number before cutting
- Program saw for cutting operation
- Operating fork trucks and overhead cranes
- Manual lifting
- Marking of material with cast numbers
- To maintain good housekeeping standards within the workshop and steelyard
- To support the company with business objectives
- To comply with safety procedures and legislations
- To ensure continuity of production of quality parts ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved
- to be flexible and adaptable of work areas and overtime to support the business
Knowledge and Experience:
- Previous experience within a similar role preferable
- Experience operating machinery
- Ability to plan and perform a sequence of operations using own initiative
- Current forklift license an advantage
- Previous crane operation experience
- Initiative and flexibility
- Knowledge and application of safe working practices
- Knowledge and experience in quality systems and procedures
- Good communication and Mathematical skills
