Key Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in creating high-performance forged components for global markets. Your responsibilities include:
  • Designing forgings, tools, and dies to meet precise customer specifications.
  • Producing all necessary drawings and documentation to support the manufacturing process.
  • Developing and maintaining process records to ensure smooth operations in forging.
  • Recommending and implementing system modifications to optimise production efficiency.
  • Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors for tooling and product development.
  • Leading efforts to identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance quality and performance.
  • Ensuring all projects meet strict customer expectations regarding quality and delivery timelines.
Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in design, ideally within the aerospace, energy, defence, oil & gas, or heavy engineering sectors.
  • Proven experience in metal forming, forging tool and die design, with solid knowledge of related processes.
  • Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD software, especially ProE/Creo, with experience in numerical analysis techniques (Forge2011 or similar).
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, and experience with software like MiniTab and Power BI would be advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly adapt, learn, and apply new skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in a heavy engineering shop-floor environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the flexibility to travel locally and internationally as required by the business.
