A great opportunity has become available at one of the UK's busiest testing laboratories.Our Livingston based client has an urgent need for a registration Technician to join their team.Working within a busy, fast paced laboratory that performs microbiological testing on a high volume of water samples. You will be required to receipt the samples into the laboratory and register them within the Laboratory Electronic Management System.Main Duties: • Receipt, organisation and registration of samples.• Analysis of samples as required following training.• Prioritisation and time management of samples to maintain a continuous flow of samples in stability.• Ensure samples received are handled in accordance with documented procedures, including attention to temperature control, storage and maintenance of sample integrity.• Identify any anomalies and deviated samples and apply deviating comments as required.• E-mail clients with any sample queries in a professional manner. • Undertake good housekeeping, maintaining a tidy work environment and stock management.• Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.The CandidateNo previous experience is required for this role but candidates must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:• Proficient in Microsoft Office• Able to work in a fast paced working environment• Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook• Good team player• Good communication and organisational skillsThe hours for this role will be:Tuesday to Saturday 6.00am -2.00pmThe payrate for this position will be £11.54 per hour.This is an excellent first step into industry and would be a great role for a recent graduate looking to gain some experience in a Lab environment.
