Plant Engineering Manager

Forming part of one of the world’s leading industrial groups, this specialist engineering division operates at the cutting-edge of technical design and expertise in the manufacture of high-grade forgings to the Defence, Nuclear, Aerospace and Petrochem sectors.
The Role:
- Reporting to the Operations Director, provide a range of innovative technical solutions to overcome manufacturing problems. Achieved either via the design or modification of existing equipment, or the specification and installation of suitable heavy plant and equipment.
- Manage the engineering effort to ensure delivery of projects on time and to budget.
- Ensure all in-house designed projects comply fully with regulatory authorities and relevant codes.
- Explore and determine the cost / efficiency benefits of alternative machinery and make suitable recommendations.
- Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders – including internal across multiple sites, plus extensive technical supplier involvement.
- Support and drive the culture of continuous improvement in terms of Cost Efficiency, Quality, and Health & Safety while adopting industry best practice.
The Person:
- Degree level or equivalent in Engineering coupled with relevant experience in heavy engineering industry, with a mechanical engineering bias.
- Knowledge of CAD design and interpretation of engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of UK and International engineering standards
