Production Manager - Construction, Salary: up to £45k + excellent benefits package, Based; Livingston

We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager / Manufacturing Manager to join the market leading provider of Portable cabins, Secure Storage Solutions, Modular buildings and associated products. The production operation stores and prepares the units ready for hire or sale, refurbishing and modifying as required – this is a production / Workshop / manufacturing process driven environment.

Candidates will need to have proven experience in a Production Manager / Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, Construction Manager or similar role with a track record of delivering on targets, quality, process (lean and continuous improvement) and H&S.

Production Manager / Manufacturing Manager Key – The role:

As the Production Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the production facility, ensuring that every product we produce is of the highest quality and delivered on time.

  • Managing and mentoring production staff, providing leadership and guidance to foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of production staff and provide feedback on areas for improvement. Implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage staff scheduling and resource allocation to ensure that production targets are met and staffing levels are appropriate.
  • Deliver the daily production plan optimising resources and communicating performance against targets & KPIs
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and productivity
  • Responsible for ensuring that all health and safety regulations and procedures are met in the production area and embedding a health and safety culture.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role e.g. Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, Construction Manager or similar role.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate staff members to achieve their best work is also critical, as is the ability to resolve conflicts and build a positive team culture.
  • P+L understanding for material and labour cost control.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of Lean fundamentals and continuous improvement. 
  • Experience of managing Health and Safety
  • Experience of delivering results against operational, service, quality, safety and cost targets
