Job Title: Design EngineerLocation: LivingstonSalary: CompetitiveHours: 37.5hrs Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:15pm Friday 8am to 3pmWe are lucky to be working with one of the world’s leading manufacturers of Nickel, Titanium and Steel alloy forgings for the aerospace, defence and energy sectors. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Design Engineer to join their Design and Industrial Engineering team based in Livingston.Experience Required

  • Candidates should have an Engineering Degree, preferably in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, with at least 4 years relevant experience gained within an engineering business.

Responsibilities

  • Design of forgings, tools and dies to meet customer requirements and within the Company's capabilities.
  • Production of all necessary drawings and documentation to support, as well as the recommendation and implementation of any system modifications.
  • Responsible for compiling working manuals and records to allow forging operations to be effectively carried out.
  • Prior experience within a design role, strong knowledge of 3D CAD software (preferably Creo) and Forge Simulation.
  • Familiarity with metals and basic metallurgy knowledge would be advantageous and you must have strong IT skills, to include Mini Tab and preferably Power BI.

Skills Required

  • You will need to be organised, confident, energetic and enthusiastic, with a flexible approach to working.
  • You must also have outstanding communication skills, be goal oriented with a positive working attitude.
