- Designing forgings, tools, and dies to meet precise customer specifications.
- Producing all necessary drawings and documentation to support the manufacturing process.
- Developing and maintaining process records to ensure smooth operations in forging.
- Recommending and implementing system modifications to optimise production efficiency.
- Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors for tooling and product development.
- Leading efforts to identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance quality and performance.
- Ensuring all projects meet strict customer expectations regarding quality and delivery timelines.
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
- Extensive post-qualification experience in design, ideally within the aerospace, energy, defence, oil & gas, or heavy engineering sectors.
- Proven experience in metal forming, forging tool and die design, with solid knowledge of related processes.
- Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD software, especially ProE/Creo, with experience in numerical analysis techniques (Forge2011 or similar).
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, and experience with software like MiniTab and Power BI would be advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly adapt, learn, and apply new skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a heavy engineering shop-floor environment is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the flexibility to travel locally and internationally as required by the business.
