Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in creating high-performance forged components for global markets. Your responsibilities include:

Designing forgings, tools, and dies to meet precise customer specifications.
Producing all necessary drawings and documentation to support the manufacturing process.
Developing and maintaining process records to ensure smooth operations in forging.
Recommending and implementing system modifications to optimise production efficiency.
Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors for tooling and product development.
Leading efforts to identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance quality and performance.
Ensuring all projects meet strict customer expectations regarding quality and delivery timelines.

Candidate RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you should have:

A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
Extensive post-qualification experience in design, ideally within the aerospace, energy, defence, oil & gas, or heavy engineering sectors.
Proven experience in metal forming, forging tool and die design, with solid knowledge of related processes.
Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD software, especially ProE/Creo, with experience in numerical analysis techniques (Forge2011 or similar).
Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, and experience with software like MiniTab and Power BI would be advantageous.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly adapt, learn, and apply new skills in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in a heavy engineering shop-floor environment is highly desirable.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the flexibility to travel locally and internationally as required by the business.
