Process Engineer

Escape Recruitment is working with our client in Livingston, a growing food manufacturing company, to recruit a Process Engineer for their innovative and expanding team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development and scale-up of industrial production processes in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Process Engineer, you will:

• Support the development of a new manufacturing site.
• Identify and implement strategies to optimise production processes and reduce costs.
• Plan, execute, and analyse experiments, reporting results effectively.
• Collaborate with external design and engineering firms.
• Assist in developing process designs and optimising selected designs.
• Lead projects related to production scale-up and process improvements.
• Address plant issues and coordinate solutions.
• Supervise and mentor team members.
• Promote a safe, hygienic working environment, adhering to health, safety, and food quality standards.

Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree or HND in Mechanical or Process Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Process Engineer, including supervisory roles.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean Principles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety principles.
• IT proficiency and a hands-on, proactive attitude.

Desirable but not essential:

• Background or qualifications in Health & Safety, Food Safety, or Hygiene (e.g., HACCP, IOSH).
• Experience with GMP practices and regulatory compliance.
