The successful candidate will join a team responsible for all elements of Welding/Fabrication repairs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • To carry out repairs and Fabrication works to a high level and responding quickly and efficiently to plant breakdowns. • To assist with the successful introduction of new/modified parts, equipment and tooling. • Setting up the Sub arc welding machine, this includes aligning and adjusting the machine • Using the machine to carry out weld repairs, as specified by blueprints, layouts, welding procedures, and operating charts • Selecting the correct voltage and power of the machine • Visually examining welds for adherence to specifications • Adjusting machine set up according to vary size, location and penetration of bead • Welding materials such as Titanium, Stainless, Mild Steel, Inconel, High Carbon content steels. • Preheating surfaces, using hand torch or heating furnaces • Ability to record work progress on a computer. • Burning/Lancing experience • Ability to fabricate as required. • To develop efficient working processes and seek ways to continuously improve all aspects of your own job. • To apply problem-solving skills relating to manufacture and to continually improve processes. • To participate in continuous improvement activities such as Lean manufacturing techniques, T.P.M, Asset Care, and 6’s etc • To identify own training needs with your team leader and assist with training others if competent and designated as a trainer. • To undertake additional training within work area in line with the company needs. Education / Experience• Time served Welder with experience of Sub Arc Welding technics. • Must have a proven track record of Fabricating works to a high standard. • Interpreting work instructions, drawings, and schematic drawings • Computer literate • Able to work at heights and in enclosed spaces. • Prior industry/Production experience would be beneficial. • Knowledge and application of safe working practices • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
