We are looking for an experienced 'Trading Standards Officer' in Powys.

You will be working full time, 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday. (Hybrid working).Based at County Hall, Spa Rd E, Llandrindod Wells LD1 5LG.Initial 3-month contract with chance of extension.

Role: To assist the Trading Standards Service in providing the full range of its functions in accordance with relevant objectives, policies and procedures. The post is for the delivery of food standards interventions at food businesses. This will be by attendance at the premises, completion of paperwork could be concluded remotely.

Duties:• Undertake routine inspections and respond to complaints and enquiries relating to Trading Standards activities and support other officers in the team with this work and their development.• Provide advice and assistance to businesses• Work closely with other Council departments, government agencies, external partners and members of the public.

Requirements: You will need to have an appropriate Food Standards qualification as listed in The Food Law Code of Practice (Wales), issued July 2021 paragraph 3.4.2. along with suitable experience and evidence of competency assessment against the Competency Framework.Must have a Full Driving License.
