My client, a nationally recognised FMCG business, are looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their North Wales head office.
Our client is seeking a Financial Controller to take the lead on financial reporting, financial governance, compliance, as well as developing effective budgeting and forecasting processes. This role is key to supporting strategic decision-making, enhancing financial performance, and ensuring robust controls across the business. You'll manage and mentor a high-performing finance team, overseeing everything from management accounts and audits to budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance. This is a hybrid role based partly from their Head Office in North Wales, offering the opportunity to make a real impact in a values-driven, purpose-led organisation.
What you'll do:
- Oversee financial reporting, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP & IFRS.
- Lead month-end & year-end closing with accurate financial statements.
- Implement financial controls & policies to safeguard company integrity.
- Manage audits, liaising with external auditors & ensuring compliance.
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy.
- Develop and oversee budgeting, forecasting & financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with tax, VAT & regulatory requirements.
- Monitor & mitigate financial risks, protecting company assets.
- Maintain compliance & internal controls as per policies.
- Lead, mentor & develop a high-performing finance team.
What you bring:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or Senior Finance Manager role.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
- Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment (preferred).
- Strong understanding of tax, VAT, and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
