Manufacturing Electrical Support Engineer - Day shift 08.30-4pm Monday to Friday

Trostre (SA14)

Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum + quarterly and yearly bonus

What you will do:

As the Manufacturing Support Engineer, you will:

  • Determine and set engineering priorities in collaboration with line managers to optimise plant performance.
  • Devise and implement planned maintenance and inspection schedules in line with statutory requirements.
  • Ensure all engineering activities meet health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Allocate resources and materials effectively to ensure maintenance schedules are met on each shift.
  • Monitor engineering teams and contractors to ensure work is carried out to plan.
  • Manage staff training and development to create a safety-conscious and technically competent workforce.
  • Control expenditure on spares, materials, and labour, ensuring that budgets are adhered to.
  • Lead initiatives to improve engineering practices and plant performance, serving as the key electrical expert for the team.
  • Prepare and submit minor capital and major maintenance proposals to ensure plant availability and performance improvements.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours call-out system to support fault resolution and breakdowns.

What you will need:

You should have a solid practical background in electrical engineering, with relevant experience in a supervisory role. A minimum of an HNC qualification or equivalent is required.

Experience in the following areas would be beneficial:

  • Electrical safety and safe systems of work
  • Design of electrical systems
  • PLCs and SCADA systems
  • Digital drives and motor control
  • Distribution systems and switching
  • Electronic systems such as load cells and tensiometers
