Process Safety Engineer

Location: Trostre (SA14)

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruting on behalf of their client who have opportunities for both experienced process safety professionals and those at the start of their process safety career. Applications from all levels are encouraged.

What you will do

We are currently recruiting for a Process Safety Engineer at our client's Trostre site. This role is in place to drive the adoption of process safety best practice. This includes training and coaching as well as applying technical principals as specified by the company. The role also ensures that compliance to the COMAH regulations is maintained.

Within the role, you will be responsible for:

  • To lead Process Safety risk assessments including HazOps, BowTies and LOPAs
  • To provide advice on Process Safety standards and systems to the installation using best practice from the Process Safety group
  • Coach and support the manufacturing teams in risk analysis techniques, ensuring completion and review of the risk assessments in compliance with the Management of Change system
  • Deliver training modules associated with Process Safety and COMAH as required to Tata Steel and contract personnel.
  • Participate in Process Safety incident investigations.
  • Own and develop installation specific Process Safety documents and databases
  • Be points of contact for Functional Safety and DSEAR queries
  • Ensure COMAH compliance is maintained and the installation safety reports are updated and reviewed.
  • Coordinate and review the installation improvement plans.

What you will need

We are looking for chemical, electrical or mechanical engineers ideally with operational experience and understanding of process safety practices and principals. You will have a clear vision of excellence in Process Safety and experience and competence in core safety subjects such as risk assessment and management systems.
