The Company

This highly respected supplier of specialist welding supplies and consumables have been in business in South Wales for 50 years. The company have experienced exceptional growth in recent years and are keen to expand the team with this newly created position. They are based in the Llanelli area of Carmarthenshire where they manufacture and distribute to an international client base.

The Role

This is an office based position providing technical support to the extensive client base, working Monday - Friday 08:30AM - 05:00PM. You would be part of a small friendly team and enjoy a busy and very varied role. Full product training will be provided over a 6 month period during which time your duties will grow and develop into the full position as detailed below:

  • Supporting an existing client base with all technical issues
  • Answering emails or telephone calls, quoting prices, sending literature/data sheets and providing lead times for the standard off the shelf products
  • Communication with customers regarding deliveries
  • Chasing up quotations
  • Liaison with internal departments
  • Assisting with demonstrations
  • Manning of exhibition stands and visiting occasional trade shows
  • Taking part in the regular Distributor Sales Training Courses which are held on site
  • Assisting with training seminars the company run for various groups, colleges, etc

Once established you will also have the opportunity to travel to international exhibitions and customer sites along with the team. There is also potential for the role to grow into a management position for the right applicant.

Requirements

The most important quality required for this position is a technically enquiring mind. Over a 6 month period you will need to learn the technicalities, application and operation of the clients products. The role would suit an internal Sales person with a technical background and aptitude. Other requirements include:

  • Previous technical experience in an internal sales or product support capacity
  • Solid customer liaison skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage a varied role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player
  • Solid computer skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • A problem solver
  • Ability to explain technical information to customers and distributors
