VGC Group are looking for experienced Shallow Drainage Pipelayer to start on a project in NP15 1NB. This contract is available to start on ASAP and we can offer up to 3 years to a successful candidate.

Hours: 7am - 7pm 

Contract: Temp-Perm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trench Excavation: Digging trenches to required depths using hand tools or trenching equipment.
  • Pipe Installation: Aligning and positioning pipes within trenches, ensuring proper slope and conformance to requirements using levels or lasers
  • Joint Sealing: Connecting pipe pieces and sealing joints using welding equipment, cement, or glue
  • Backfilling: Covering pipes with earth or other materials and ensuring proper compaction
  • Maintenance: Installing and repairing sanitary and stormwater sewer structures and pipe systems
  • Equipment Handling: Using instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in pipe laying and civil construction
  • Certifications: Valid CSCS card and driving license
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use trenching tools, welding equipment, and leveling instruments
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and team members

Based in NP15 1NB remuneration for this role is £26.89 per hour, you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
