Job Title: CNC Punch & Laser Operator

Role Overview:
Nicholas Associates is recruiting a skilled CNC Punch & Laser Operator for a leading manufacturing company. As a CNC Operator, you will play a vital role in fabricating metal components with precision using CNC press brake, CNC laser, and CNC punch machines. You will work with engineering drawings and specifications to ensure that all parts meet the required standards. There will also be opportunities for career progression into CNC programming and other technical areas, with on-the-job training provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate CNC press brake, laser cutter, and punch machines in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate parts accurately.
- Set up and calibrate machines to ensure optimal operation.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to maintain machine performance and product quality.
- Monitor machine performance, tool wear, and quality control, making adjustments as necessary.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make adjustments to reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with the production team to prioritise tasks and improve production processes.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, following all safety protocols.
- Inspect finished components for accuracy and ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Advanced experience in operating at least one of the following CNC machines: press brake, CNC laser, or CNC punch. Familiarity with machine programming is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications to produce accurate components.
- Familiarity with CNC machine programming and setup is desirable, and a willingness to undergo training is required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in the fabrication of metal components, is preferred.

- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word, with willingness to learn engineering software packages.
