Job Description

UWC Atlantic is one of Holroyd Howe Flagship sites based On the South Wales Coast in a 12th Century Castle. We have been established at the school since 2023

The school has a very close place in all of our hearts, and we are looking for the right individual that continue to take it forward into new era developing the current superb team we have and creating new experiences for them. To develop our current key partnerships within the school and our clients to further and drive forward excellence and continue to make UWC Atlantic a flagship site for Holroyd Howe.

UWC Atlantic is a college for students aged 16-19 years of age. Students travel from over 150 countries to live, study and learn together pursuing the International Baccalaureate and an outdoor-orientated experiential education over two years. It's mission is to make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. It's vision is to reclaim our position as the flagship college of the UWC movement, recognised for the radical and experimental spirit that defines our history and drives our impact on the world.

The College is also stunning venue that hosts numerous events from weddings, corporate BBQs, and a very busy summer schedule. The General Manager is expected to work 5 days out of 7 and be flexible to ensure breakfast, lunch and supper service is seen on a regular basis.



Qualifications

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills to set and implement the business strategy across the operations teams.
  • Background in client relationships and have a proven record in building and motivating teams, to meet key business targets.
  • Strong emphasis placed on experience in key customer relationships, service delivery.
  • Excellent leadership skills, achieving results through others, building loyalty and a sense of belonging in the team.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written/spoken/presentation) at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Tenacious disciplined and results focused.
  • High standard of secondary education; NVQ3/BTEC/City & Guilds/HND/Degree or equivalent
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or above
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Financially and commercially astute
  • Computer literate
  • High level of report writing and financial ability
  • High end operational events experience essential
