Our client a leader in their field have an urgent opening for an Electrical Design Manager to join their expanding operations in a permanent role,

Purpose of the role:

The Electrical Design Manager will oversee and manage electrical design projects within the business. For this role, it is necessary to have technical expertise, project management capabilities, and leadership qualities to ensure that electrical systems are designed to meet safety, efficiency, and performance requirements.

This will be achieved by: -

• Taking full responsibility for the design coordination within projects
• Organise, control and manage the design team to ensure work is carried out in full conformance with quality, environmental and safety standards
• Ensuring that the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager
• Reviewing technical reports, conducting site visits, and providing expert design input

Main Duties:

The Electrical Design Manager will be expected to perform any of the following tasks:

• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, regularly
• Designing and reviewing electrical installations
• Work with Project Managers to ensure solid delivery plans are in place for all work packages
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the design process
• Ensuring the on-time completion of design projects in line with client, safety, cost, and environmental requirements.
• Liaising with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards.
• Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to help guide design innovations
