Mac Recruit Group are delighted to represent our client, a UK leader in the power generation, landfill and agriculture sectors. A Mechanical Technician is required to join their growing team at their plant based in Fife.
Mechanical technician duties:
- Ensures relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into area of responsibility and, in consultation with site management and HSE, that HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable
- Ensures works within area of responsibility conform with Plant time, budget and HSEQ requirements
- Performs all mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance activities on all processes systems and equipment
- Reads and follows mechanical drawings, O&M manuals, and relevant information
- Carries out assigned job activities throughout the shift to ensure all work assignments are completed correctly and as requested
- Preventative maintenance and fault finding
- The mechanical technician will update progress reports on work orders on CMMS
- Ensures that all job assignment work areas are cleaned of used parts, debris, and tools upon completion of work
- Ensures that work accidents, incidents and near misses are reported
- Complies with all National and Local Mechanical Codes, completing professional works
- Attends HSE Inspections, audits, assessments, and meetings
- As mechanical technician you will conduct Risk identification/analysis/assessments
- The mechanical technician will manage and maintain the spares parts list including the critical spares list and ensure the ongoing of availability of critical spares at the Location to maximise availability
- Supervises assigned staff and contractors
Requirements for mechanical technician:
- 3 years experience as a mechanical technician, and at least two (2) years experience in a similar industry
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship
Salary & benefits for mechanical technician:
- £38,000 - £40,000
