Position: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Lockerbie, Scotland

Salary: 39-45K + overtime, commensurate with experience

Nicholas Associates have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our client's existing team, on-site in Lockerbie. The position reports to the Engineering Supervisor.

Candidates must be willing to work to an alternating shift / rota system consisting of 4 on / 4 off, day shift & night shift.

Duties & responsibilities

  • H&S is adhered to
  • To undertake PPM on basic mechanical systems
  • To cover all maintenance of mechanical systems
  • To complete PPM in line with agreements
  • To undertake installation works such as improvements to the mill
  • To respond to break downs requests, providing a professional & timely service
  • To support the other members of the maintenance team between departments

Skills required

  • Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in mechanical engineering or minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical fitting.
  • A good team player, but also able to work alone
  • Must be presentable & reliable
  • Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally & externally
