About the Role:
Aspire People are seeking an Experienced Cover Supervisor to join our school on a day-to-day basis starting immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a strong background in supervising classes and supporting students in a classroom setting.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of pre-prepared lessons, ensuring students remain engaged, and maintaining a productive classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher. The role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and support their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage classes during the absence of the class teacher, ensuring that students follow the lesson plan.
Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment.
Support students with their learning by offering guidance and assistance when required.
Ensure students complete set tasks and provide feedback to teachers.
Manage classroom behavior effectively in line with school policies.
Assist with the preparation and setting up of lesson materials where needed.
Promote the school's ethos and values, ensuring all students feel safe and supported.
Report any safeguarding concerns or behavioral issues to the relevant staff members.
Essential Criteria:
Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar classroom-based role.
A valid DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students.
Excellent communication skills with both students and staff.
The ability to adapt quickly and work independently.
A proactive and positive attitude with a passion for supporting students.
Good organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Desirable:
Experience working in a secondary school setting.
A relevant qualification in education, such as a degree or a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
Familiarity with special educational needs (SEN) and how to support students with varying learning needs.
