Theatre Operations Officer

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Act as a Duty Manager for performances, rehearsals, and when providing building access for external parties.
  • Administer the front of house operations, including managing three bars and merchandise sales points.
  • Supervise a pool of casual and agency staff, ensuring the public safety of patrons attending events.
  • Deputise for Theatre Management in your area of work and ensure compliance with all conditions of the venue's license.
  • Responsible for locking up the building at the conclusion of performances.
  • Ensure the safety of staff, artists, and patrons, implementing emergency procedures when necessary, including evacuation decisions.
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of staff for event operations.
  • Attend fire and safety inspections, maintaining relevant records.
  • Monitor supplies for the theatre and catering services.
  • Utilize the Front of House Point One till system and Artifax Event management System as required.
  • Undertake administrative support duties across all areas.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in theatre operations or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and safety protocols.
  • Experience in customer service and staff management.
  • Proficient in using theatre management systems and general IT skills.
