General Manager (GM) Restaurant Chain

Our client, an established restaurant chain in London, UK is looking for a strategic and ambitious leader who will ensure the high operational performance of the restaurants and actively contribute to the networks growth by implementing innovations and scaling the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations of all restaurants, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement standardized operating procedures across all locations.
  • Organize effective communication between restaurant managers and the central office.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements, health and safety regulations.

2. Financial Strategy and Cost Control

  • Monitor financial performance across the chain, ensuring profitability and cost optimization.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (Food Cost, Labour Cost, EBITDA) and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to reduce costs and increase margins.
  • Develop and control pricing strategies considering local market conditions and demand dynamics.

3. Team Development and Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and manage restaurant managers.
  • Implement leadership development programs to foster internal career growth.
  • Build and maintain a strong corporate culture and employee motivation.
  • Oversee workforce planning, evaluate performance, and resolve conflicts.

4. Brand Development and Business Expansion

  • Ensure brand consistency across all locations (menu, interior, marketing, service).
  • Identify growth opportunities, including new restaurant openings, franchising, and strategic partnerships.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitors to refine the brand concept.
  • Manage brand reputation, PR, and marketing activities.

5. Customer Service and Quality Control

  • Develop and implement a service quality control system.
  • Manage online reviews, feedback, and complaints, responding promptly to guest comments.
  • Introduce VIP programs, loyalty systems, and exclusive events to enhance customer engagement.
  • Oversee delivery and catering quality, optimizing logistics processes.

6. Technology and Innovation

  • Implement modern technology solutions and automation to improve restaurant efficiency.
  • Supervise online ordering platforms, CRM systems, and POS terminals.
  • Utilize data analytics to optimize processes.

Key Competencies

  • At least 3 years of experience in a senior role with a restaurant chain in the UK.
  • Strong financial knowledge for revenue management, forecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Leadership skills and experience managing multiple teams across different sites and departments.
  • Understanding of business scaling strategies.
  • Experience in implementing modern technologies to automate business processes.
  • Fluency in both English and Russian.
