Company Overview:Dynamic company based in Camden, London, seeking an experienced Part-Time Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong accounting skills and a keen attention to detail to contribute to a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations, preparing VAT returns and liaising with HMRC as required.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely submission of payroll taxes and contributions.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, forecast cash flow, and assist with financial planning.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Support the preparation of management accounts and variance analysis.
- Liaise with auditors and assist in the preparation of year-end financial audits.
- Handle any other ad hoc accounting tasks as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a small or medium-sized business environment.
- AAT qualified (or equivalent), or working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations.
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred:
- Previous experience working in a similar part-time or flexible role.
- Experience with payroll processing and HMRC filings.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting.
