Are you an experienced accountant with a passion for process improvement and a keen interest in the dynamic world of retail? My client is a global giant within the e-commerce industry, they are looking for an Accountant to join their Retail Accounting Projects team. This is your chance to work on critical financial initiatives, lead automation projects, and collaborate across global teams in a fast-paced and growing business environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Month-End Activities: Perform reconciliations and manage accounting tasks for a rapid delivery channel.
  • Project Leadership: Support automation initiatives from scoping to implementation and testing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with accounting, tax, and tech teams globally to streamline financial operations.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance financial systems, ensuring compliance with internal controls and UK regulatory standards.
  • Data Analysis: Generate financial insights to drive decision-making in the UK grocery retail space.
  • Business Reporting: Support weekly reviews with actionable business insights and trading recommendations.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in retail, grocery or FMCG.
  • Deep knowledge of US-GAAP or IFRS standards, including revenue accounting (IFRS 15/ASC 606).
  • Strong analytical abilities and a high level of comfort working with large data sets.
  • Proficiency in financial tools, Microsoft Excel, and automation systems.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (fluent English required).

Desirable Skills:

  • Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
  • Experience with automation tools like Alteryx, Python, or SQL.
  • Knowledge of data visualisation platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Commercial finance experience, including P&L modelling.

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:30
