We are seeking a dedicated recently qualified Accountant to provide exceptional financial accounting, management reporting, and business partnering support, on behalf of a leading real estate investment and development firm.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to ensuring timely month-end closing, accurate balance sheet reconciliations, and effective management reporting.
The successful candidate will also be involved in the preparation of financial statements for audit, handling tax matters, and participating in annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
This role requires a fully qualified Accountant and some prior experience operating within the real estate sector.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Ensure timely month-end closing and conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and review management reports, including accounts prepared by property managers/operators/outsourced agents.
- Actively participate in the preparation of financial statements for audit and manage tax-related matters.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Uphold internal control and compliance within Group policies, processes, and systems.
- Required to perform credit review for vendor selection.
- Continuously initiate and implement changes to enhance process efficiency and quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (either ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience within student housing/real estate sector
- SAP experience will be highly beneficial
- Must have strong Excel skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to show initiative.
- Proficient in reviewing financial information and summarising issues concisely.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, across all levels of the company.
- Ability to understand complex issues and provide appropriate challenges when necessary.
- Capable of working independently, meeting deadlines, and managing competing and changing priorities.
- Responsible, organised, and motivated to be part of a high-performing team.
