Agora Talent is delighted to be partnering with a highly-regarded fashion retailer on the search for an Accounts Receivable Coordinator to support their growth across both the UK and international markets.

This business is enjoying an exciting period of growth, having recently acquired new businesses into their expanding portfolio. You’ll be exposed to some of the best accountants in the industry and will have plenty of opportunity to evolve within this role as the business continues to expand.

About the role…

  • Enter sales data from the stock system into the Sun accounting ledger.
  • Perform monthly sales reconciliations between Sun and the stock system, coordinating with IT to promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Record and reconcile other sales-related entries, such as commissions and concession costs.
  • Update sales templates to reflect contract changes with Concession Partners.
  • Adapt to any process changes regarding sales posting and reconciliation for relevant entities.
  • Collaborate with IT to streamline the identification and correction of sales mis-posted in the stock system, implementing improved procedures where possible.
  • Generate monthly concession invoices and send them to partners or upload to websites, working with overseas advisors when necessary.
  • Create and post wholesale invoices as needed for international entities, working with the stock and wholesale departments to ensure timely cash collection.
  • Follow up with partners to ensure payments are received on time, notifying the Accounts Receivable Manager of any problematic accounts.
  • Track receipt timing against contractual payment terms, ensuring timely cash collection and resolving any issues quickly.
  • Reconcile expected debtor balances with monthly concession remittances, working with partners to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Reconcile expected debtor balances with monthly wholesale partner remittances, liaising with partners to address any differences.
  • Allocate debtor balances in the Sun system.
  • Keep the Aged Debtor report updated weekly for the relevant entities, providing detailed explanations and supporting documents for any unallocated or overdue balances.
  • Verify commission rates against concession contracts and notify the Commercial Team & Retail Operations of any discrepancies with contracts or budget/forecast.
  • Prepare audit schedules and serve as the main point of contact during the annual audit concerning sales and debtor reconciliations.
  • Work closely with the Management Accountants to provide historical support for various Financial Statements related to sales postings and debtor balances.
  • Produce Turnover Certificates as requested by landlords or Concession Partners.

About you…

  • Previous experience in a busy finance department, ideally some previous AR exposure
  • Experience within a retail/multi-site business preferable
  • Intermediate Excel Skills
  • Having used SUN accounting system before is a big plus but not necessary
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask and independently take full ownership of responsibilities.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively with Finance Team members, including Senior Management.
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
