Assistant Management Accountant | SME Retailer | £40,000 - £45,000 | West London (2 days per week in the office) | Permanent role

JasperRose is partnering with a leading retail distributor, who is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team, based in their West London Headquarters (2 days per week in the office). This ambitious, privately owned business has tripled in size over the past 5 years, increasing the brands they partner with yearly.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will own the accounts payable function (40%) of the role as well as support with the sales & margin reporting, month-end, and management accounts. As you will develop you will take on additional duties from the Financial Controller.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the month-end process including accruals, prepayments, and journals
  • Support the Financial Controller with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage the accounts payable function including invoice processing (stock & non-stock), matching PO’s to invoices, handling supplier queries and statement reconciliations
  • Producing the weekly sales and margin reports to be distributed to the business
  • Managing staff expenses and credit card statement reconciliations
  • Supporting with ad-hoc projects including process improvement and looking at ways to enhance the finance systems
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the entire business

Skill set required

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience within finance and will have previously worked in a small company. You must have strong accounts payable experience including experience matching invoices to PO’s. Experience with month-end is essential.

Ideally, you will have experience working in a consumer related business where you have dealt with stock, knowledge of Xero is also beneficial. You will be comfortable working autonomously, yet in a team-based environment, and be ambitious to take on further duties as the business grows.
