My client are a global private education and training company that are the industry leader. They own, manage and develop private schools around the world and they are looking for a Management Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. The role is 3 days per week in the South West London office (London Victoria).

Client Details

The client own and manage over 80 private schools across the global and have a large global finance team. The successful candidate will be reporting directly into the Corporate Accounting Manager and the Group Financial Controller, whilst being in a team of 6 people. The team will oversee the group entities and the successful Assistant Management Accountant will have the opportunity to grow and progress through the company very quickly!

Description

The successful Assistant Management Accountant will:

  • General assistance in the monthly financial close process, posting manual journals and processing inter-company transactions, including invoices, credit notes and other journals such as dividends, funding, loans and associated interest entries.
  • Maintaining inter-company reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations - multi-currency
  • Responsibility for ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and signed off on a monthly basis. That any actions resulting from sign off are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with annual audit, including preparing statutory packs for central entities
  • Performance of, and compliance with internal controls with respect to the Group's external reporting and continuous improvement of controls.
  • Preparation and submission of additional ad-hoc management reports and analyses.
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team and stakeholders across the different regions to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Assist and support initiatives to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
  • Improvements in the efficiency of the monthly financial close process results in the close process being reduced significantly.
  • Work cross-functionally to provide clear and concise accounting advice on significant and unusual transactions.

Profile

The successful Assistant Management Accountant will:

  • Have approximately 3 years experience working in Accounting and Finance
  • The successful candidate MUST have prior experience working in a big company (multi-entity environment)
  • MUST be studying towards the ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT qualification
  • MUST have strong Excel skills (V-lookups, SUMIF, Pivot Tables etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
