The client are a global financial services company (asset management and property company) that are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. There is a wealth of exposure and progression in the role, and they are looking for a candidate that is keen to progress through the business. The head office is based in South West London (Victoria) and they have hybrid working.

Client Details

The successful candidate will report directly into the Group Financial Controller, and the role will have a wealth of exposure to the group entities. The direct team is made up of 5 people, however the wider finance team is very large, giving any candidates a wealth of opportunity to grow in through the company. The role will be focused around assisting with the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles as well as ad hoc analysis and day-to-day management of the head office entities.

Description

The successful Assistant Management Accountant will:

  • General assistance in the monthly financial close process, posting manual journals and processing intercompany transactions, including invoices, credit notes and other journals such as dividends, funding, loans and associated interest entries.
  • Maintaining intercompany reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations - multi-currency
  • Responsibility for ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and signed off on a monthly basis. That any actions resulting from sign off are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with annual audit, including preparing statutory packs for central entities
  • Performance of, and compliance with internal controls with respect to the Group's external reporting and continuous improvement of controls.
  • Preparation and submission of additional ad-hoc management reports and analyses.
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team and stakeholders across the different regions to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Assist and support initiatives to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
  • Improvements in the efficiency of the monthly financial close process results in the close process being reduced significantly.
  • Work cross-functionally to provide clear and concise accounting advice on significant and unusual transactions.

Profile

The successful Assistant Management Accountant will:

  • Be actively studying towards the ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification
  • Have approximately 2-3 years of experience in accounting
  • Prior working knowledge of multi-currency bank reconciliations
  • Strong knowledge of debits & credits
  • Strong Excel skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Eager to grow and progress through the organisation
