Our client is looking for an ambitious Audit and Accounts Semi-Senior or an Audit and Accounts Senior to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:
Leading audits from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards.
Preparing financial statements for a wide range of clients, including small to medium-sized businesses, charities, and owner-managed businesses.
Reviewing and preparing management accounts, tax returns, and other financial reporting documents.
Liaising directly with clients to build strong relationships and offer expert advice.
Managing a portfolio of clients, handling day-to-day queries, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Supervising and mentoring junior team members, providing on-the-job training and support.
Collaborating with partners and senior staff on ad-hoc projects and special assignments.
Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience in audit and accounts preparation within an accountancy practice is essential.
For the Semi-Senior role, candidates with at least 1-2 years’ experience in audit/accounts are preferred.
For the Senior role, candidates should have at least 3-4 years’ experience, including supervising junior staff and managing audits from start to finish.
ACA/ACCA part-qualified or qualified, or equivalent. Alternatively, strong candidates with significant practical experience may also be considered.
Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of UK GAAP and auditing standards, as well as tax regulations.
UK experience in practice is essential.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with clients and colleagues.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple client portfolios.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) and Excel.
