Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level oversight for audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality and accuracy
  • Develop the audit and assurance service line with new and recurring fee income
  • Win assignments in line with budgets and deadlines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address client needs
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, as well as a network of business partners
  • Provide strategic guidance to the audit team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes and emerging issues to enhance audit methodologies and processes
  • Champion business development and cross selling by utilising own commercial acumen
  • Lead and inspire the department by providing regular feedback and monitoring performance
  • Effectively communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients and senior management
  • Set an example as a warm yet professional Director to inspire and motivate junior staff

The Right Candidate
  • ACCA / ACA qualified with at least 10 years’ audit experience within UK practice
  • Proven experience managing audit engagements
  • Excellent leadership skills and a proven track record of successful team management
  • Strong technical skills, including a deep understanding of auditing standards and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Proactive and adaptable, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Excellent understanding of relevant UK taxes such as Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE
