Purpose of the Audit Director Role

I am seeking a Director-level Audit Responsible Individual (Audit RI) to join our expanding team. This role is pivotal in leading a high-performing audit team and contributing to the strategic direction of their audit services. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills and a commitment to audit excellence and compliance.

Audit Director Key Accountabilities:

  • Client Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit services aligned with various financial reporting frameworks.
  • Strategy and Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of audit strategies and planning.
  • Quality and Compliance: Uphold and emphasize audit quality, ethics, and compliance in all engagements.
  • Business Development: Engage in business development activities, including domestic and international networking, and represent the firm at industry events and conferences.
  • Proposal Management: Lead audit tenders and proposals, identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and appraise team members at manager level and below, supporting their professional growth.
  • Budget and Performance: Assist with departmental budgeting and monitor key performance metrics, including revenue, EBITDA, and operational efficiencies.
  • Recruitment: Support recruitment efforts to build and sustain a top-tier audit team.

Audit Director Knowledge and Experience /Attributes/Technical Skills

  • Developing leadership capabilities and a collaborative approach.
  • Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge of audit and accounting standards.
  • Experience with audit software, ideally CaseWare.
  • Familiarity with UK GAAP and IFRS; knowledge of US GAAP is advantageous.

Audit Director Relevant Experience

  • Senior manager or director level, looking to transition into an RI role.
  • Experience with international clients, particularly those with UK inward investment.

Educational and Professional Qualification

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
