Role Responsibilities

As an Audit Senior, you will play a crucial role in managing and delivering audit engagements from planning to completion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading statutory audits, non-statutory audits, grant claim reporting, and other compliance assignments
  • Managing audit engagements independently, from planning to completion
  • Working with a diverse portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses and groups with turnovers up to c.£40m
  • Building strong client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor and key point of contact
  • Managing audit compliance procedures, assisting in the development of best practices and improving efficiency
  • Reporting directly to Directors, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements
  • Supporting business growth initiatives, including developing new non-audit assurance assignments
  • Assisting with internal compliance reviews, ensuring audit quality and regulatory adherence
  • Opportunities for ad-hoc projects, including corporate finance, due diligence, business valuations, and management accounting

Candidate Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of audit experience in a UK accountancy practice
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and audit software
  • Experience in statutory audits across various industries, including charities, pension schemes, and owner-managed businesses
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and colleagues
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Additional experience in VAT, management accounting, and corporate tax is advantageous
