Board Member (Qualified Accountant) 

Location: Hackney, Islington, and Newham; London
Hours: Approximately one day per month

To join the Board and the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee. Relevant experience in a housing related sector (voluntary, public or private) is essential.

As well as homes and support, we empower people to learn, access work and discover their creative talents. Based in Hackney, Islington and Newham, we work with people who are homeless, have mental ill health, learning difficulties and multiple needs. Our work enables people to move on and lead independent lives. We are committed to mutual support, participation and personal development for both staff and service users.

For over 50 years, we have been committed to enabling local people to leave poverty and unemployment through mutual support and self-help. More recently, we have been able to provide more intensive support to assist independence for our tenants. We work in close collaboration with partners who respect our contribution.

We are looking to recruit a Board Member with Finance (Qualified Accountant) to join Board and the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee, you will report into the Chair and work with the Committee Chairs and the Senior Leadership Team to increase the impact of our work with current and potential tenants and participants. We are looking for a Qualified Accountant with substantial experience in accounting, business planning and funding, internal control and risk. Relevant experience in a housing related sector (voluntary, public or private) is essential.
