Semi Senior Accountant | Business Services 

Reed are delighted to be recruiting for an expanding Business Support department at a Top 30 accountancy firm based in central London. The firm pride themselves on integrating cutting-edge technology to deliver high-quality, cost-effective accounting services. They are seeking a proactive individual with a strong background in public practice and outsourced services, who is working towards their ACCA qualification.

Salary: £35,000 - £43,000 depending on experience and ACCA progress

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Perform professional accounting tasks for a diverse client base, adhering to accounting principles.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts and VAT returns using various software services.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and statutory accounts.
  • Report on key performance indicators and variances, providing relevant advisory services to clients.
  • Initially support team members with their clients, progressively taking a lead role under the guidance of managers, directors, and partners.
  • Engage with both existing and new clients as part of our ongoing growth, with potential future involvement in marketing our services.
  • Travel to client premises as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing ACCA qualification.
  • Experience in public practice and delivering outsourced services.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a lead role with client assignments.
  • Experience in delegating and reviewing the work of junior staff.
  • Proficient in technology with a strong aptitude for using online accounting packages, particularly Xero.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Sage.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP, VAT, and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Experience with Caseware Accounts Production Software is advantageous.
