A prestigious private bank in London is seeking a highly skilled CGT Specialist to join their team on a 6-month contract basis. This role is crucial in providing expert support during the peak tax season. As a CGT Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate calculation and reporting of Capital Gains Tax for the bank's high-net-worth clients. This is a fast-paced environment requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to work independently.

Duties of the CGT Specialist to include:

  • Calculating and reporting CGT liabilities for clients across a range of asset classes (e.g., equities, bonds, property, funds).
  • Providing technical advice to internal stakeholders and clients on complex CGT matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant tax legislation and regulations.
  • Preparing and reviewing CGT computations and supporting documentation.
  • Assisting with tax reporting and regulatory submissions.
  • Maintaining accurate records of CGT transactions.
  • Collaborating with other departments, including front office and operations, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assisting with Tax Information Reporting (TIR) processes, including CRS and FATCA reporting

Requirements for the successful candidate:

  • Proven experience as a CGT Specialist within the investment management, private banking, or wealth management sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK CGT legislation and its practical application.
  • Knowledge of Tax Information Reporting (TIR) systems highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CTA, ATT) advantageous
