Client AccountantLondonPermanent£50000This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding strategy consultancy for the media, information and technology industries.  With offices in London and New York, their clients include major corporates and private equity investors.  The company is looking to recruit a highly skilled Client Accountant who will report directly to the Finance Director and take responsibility for the whole client revenue cycle from client contracting through to billing and cash collection and revenue recognition.WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Ensure engagement letters and other key contractual documents are in place with the client
  • Meet regularly with client-facing team to review project status, OOPs and billing
  • Approve expense claims for project-related costs and ensure client contract compliance
  • Ensure project boards in accounting system reflect client approval
  • Perform monthly revenue recognition and maintain SOX compliance documentation
  • Oversee all acounting aspects, including deferred revenue, WIP, debtors, and revenue reporting
  • Prepare timesheet reports and monitor client/project profitability and staff utilization, providing insight as required
  • Produce client invoices and manage credit control
  • Reconcile third-party costs, flag over-spending, and ensure timely billing and collections
  • Review WIP of live jobs and maintain project records
  • Ad hoc tasks as requested by the Finance Director / Finance Manager.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE / BE:
  • Studying towards ACCA /ACA/CIMA
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proven experience in or collaborating with client accounting functions
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated and team-orientated
  • Exposure to Work in Progress (WIP) is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience with Xero is desirable
