The Client Accountant is responsible for managing the financial aspects of client property portfolios, ensuring accurate accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves close collaboration with property managers, facilities teams, and external stakeholders to provide financial insight, maintain accurate records, and ensure smooth financial operations for managed properties.

Description
1. Financial Management & Reporting
a. Maintain accurate financial records for client property portfolios, ensuring timely and accurate transaction processing.
b. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for clients, highlighting key financial insights.
c. Support year-end audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
2. Service Charge & Budgeting
a. Prepare, review, and reconcile service charge budgets and actuals, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
b. Work closely with property managers to manage service charge expenditure and resolve queries.
c. Ensure timely collection and allocation of service charge payments.
3. Rent & Credit Control
a. Process rental income, monitor arrears, and support credit control efforts to minimise outstanding balances.
b. Ensure lease agreements are accurately reflected in financial records, including rent reviews and escalations.
c. Liaise with tenants and property managers to resolve rent-related issues.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
a. Act as a key finance contact for property managers, clients, and external stakeholders.
b. Provide financial advice and support to operational teams to drive informed decision-making.
c. Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and external consultants as required.
5. Compliance & Risk Management
a. Ensure all financial transactions comply with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and client requirements.
b. Maintain accurate records for VAT, tax returns, and financial audits.
c. Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring strong internal controls are in place.
6. Process Improvement & System Management
a. Continuously seek ways to enhance financial processes and reporting efficiencies.
b. Assist in system upgrades, data integrity checks, and finance system improvements.
c. Support automation initiatives to improve accuracy and reduce manual workload.

Profile
Essential Qualifications or Experience:
路 Previous experience in client or property accounting within a facilities or property management environment.
路 Strong knowledge of property accounting principles, including service charge reconciliation, rent processing, and financial reporting.
路 Proficiency in financial management systems, such as MRI, Horizon, Qube, or similar property accounting platforms.
路 Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
路 Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Desirable Qualifications or Experience:
路 Part or fully qualified in ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
路 Experience managing service charge budgets and reconciliations in a commercial or residential property setting.
路 Understanding of VAT, tax, and compliance considerations in property management.
