An SME Banking client of ours is looking for a Cost and Management Accountant - VP level equivalent to join their London business on a hybrid basis.
You will play a pivotal role in analysing and managing the London Branch and International head office cost structures, cost recoveries, financial planning and analysis while taking ownership of the bank's procurement activities, and supplier management to ensure cost-effectiveness, compliance, and operational efficiency and financial performance, and profitability.
Key objectives include but are not limited to.
- Providing high-quality support to the Business Units.
- Deliver all reports and processes in an accurate timely manner.
- Ensure compliance by following policies and procedures and data integrity.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and ad hoc cost reports, highlighting key insights and
recommendations for management review.
- Collaborate with the local and International based finance resources to prepare accurate monthly management accounts and management information, ensuring alignment with financial performance.
- Manage and maintain the cost accounting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Group accounting principles and methodologies.
- Develop and maintain cost allocation models to accurately assign costs to different departments and activities.
- Own transfer pricing policies and documentation for intercompany transactions within the banking group to ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations.
- Assist the Finance director in sourcing strategies, vendor onboarding and contract management, ensure adherence to procurement policies and practices, promoting cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality while ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations within the Procurement and Outsourcing management space.
- Manage the outsourced Account Payable process on a day-to-day basis ensure the appropriate approval hierarchies are in place.
- Deliver key Finance projects.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, seeking innovative ways to streamline processes and contribute to their implementation.
- Participate in business case assessments for new projects or initiatives.
- Periodically and as needed, the role holder will undertake new tasks and responsibilities assigned by the UK Finance Director to support him in the fulfilment of his Statement of Responsibilities.
Key requirements required to be able to apply for this position:
Accounting Qualification OR relevant post graduate qualification. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA) is advantageous. Requirement Financial and Business acumen along with requirement Data analysis. Proven experience in cost accounting, management accounting, or financial analysis within the banking or financial services sector. Requirement Interpersonal skills, communication and presentation skills. Requirement relevant software and systems knowledge - SAP, SAGE, TM1 and Microsoft office suite.
