Estate Management Accountant - OUR CLIENT is an established real estate investor and developer with a vision for transforming assets with local communities. One such project is an iconic landmark site, and our client is now seeking a qualified accountant to join their in house estates finance team. Our Client has instructed us to help them appoint an Estate Management Accountant (on a contract or permanent basis)to help set up and manage the financial accounting and reporting for company’s services. This is a commercially focus role and will require strong interpersonal skills, building working relationships with the partners and monitoring their performance.

THE ROLE responsibilities for the Estate Management Accountant will include:

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and guidance on statutory accounting treatment at Opco level for a number of group companies.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate chart of accounts, controls and processes to ensure that financial information fit for purpose
  • Contribute to finance systems implementation, with a focus on efficiency and automation.
  • Constantly develop improvements in quality of information and working practices, within the organisation.

Operational Duties:

  • Review financial information across the partner companies ensuring that the information is robust, timely and subject to appropriate internal review.
  • Responsible for the AP, AR, bank reconciliation processing as well as supporting the finance team at both group consolidation and corporate finance activities.
  • Assisting in the corporate accounting, tax and relationship with auditors.
  • Ensure delivery of accurate management accounts, VAT /CIS returns and outsourced services are provided on a timely basis and comply with statutory deadlines.

Reporting and Evaluation:

  • Develop internal management reporting to enable improved analysis at Group Level. Quarterly segment management accounts in accordance with relevant timetables to group finance, commercial finance and external auditors.
  • Deliver the annual audits within the required timeframe including managing the relationships with the external auditors.
  • Review Operational budgets, requesting funding for partnering companies. Review Partner budgets.

THE PERSON and SKILL REQUIREMENTS for the Estate Management Accountant role are:

  • An ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified accountant minimum of 3-5 years post qualified experience with real estate exposure in Commercial Property Finance.
  • Must have experience with managing Opco companies with both Landlord and partner management agreements.
  • Proven ability to implement in internal controls and processes through the use of technology.
  • Ability to critically challenge financial results, analyse trends and prepare commercial commentary on the results.
  • Very organised with exceptional time management skills - able to work under pressure, prioritising and meet competing deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, must be able to take ownership of tasks and responsibility for work produced.
  • Experience of working and communicating with a range of stakeholders.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with a strong sense of team work.
  • A self-starter with the ability to drive change and bring energy and passion for what they do.
  • Happy to work 5 days on site, with 1 day WFH in the future.
