Your new role
This is a full-time on-site role for an Estimator. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates for construction projects, from initial enquiries through to tender submissions. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to work closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure that estimates are accurate and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Prepare and manage tenders for faade projects, ensuring the accurate breakdown of materials, labour & OHP.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and verify pricing for materials and services.
  • Conduct site visits to assess the project scope and gather essential information for accurate estimating.
  • Provide clear and concise reports and recommendations to management regarding project costs and value engineering options.
  • Collaborate with the design team and other stakeholders to ensure estimates meet project specifications and timelines.
  • Maintain and update an accurate database of suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring pricing is current and competitive.
  • Analyse past projects and historical data to improve estimating accuracy and cost predictions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards during the estimating process.



What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, ideally in faade systems or related fields.
  • Knowledge of cladding systems is preferred; previous experience in cladding remediation projects is ideal.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing structures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all estimates.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (desirable).
