Finance Controller

We are seeking an experienced Finance Controller to oversee our financial operations. This role is ideal for a Accountant who is either part or fully qualified and has a solid background in managing finance departments, particularly within businesses with a turnover of £5-6 million. The position involves full responsibility for bookkeeping, accounts, VAT, payroll, and preparation of management information from Sage up to trial balance, including bank reconciliations and payment runs.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Full management of the company's financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts, VAT, payroll, and preparation of management information.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and control, up to trial balance.
- Manage bank reconciliations, payment runs and reconcile credit cards.
- Oversee stock control systems and maintain two sets of books, with the potential to consolidate into one.
- Handle deposits, cash flow management, and other financial aspects of a full trading business.
- Operate autonomously in a sole role, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Part or fully qualified in a relevant financial discipline.
- Proven experience running a finance controller role for a significant number of years, ideally within a company with a turnover of £5-6 million.
- Strong knowledge of imports and the financial management of trading businesses.
- Proficient in using Sage for various financial processes.
- Capable of managing multiple financial tasks independently.
- Excellent understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
