Finance Officer - Xero experience available to start mid March 2025
Are you a Finance Officer with strong experience using Xero and available to start mid March 2025?
This amazing opportunity has come up to join a £7million turnover children's charity to join a new finance team. You will be joining a small team, reporting to the Finance Manager and working very closely with the rest of the organisation.
This is a full time permanent role, 35 hours per week
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum
Hybrid: Going to their office based in Camden 2-3 days a week
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Day-to-day financial administration
- Bookkeeping on Xero, raising invoices, chasing debtors, dealing with supplier statements
- Ensuring correct VAT categorisations
- Tracking expenditure on Xero in accordance with funder requirements
- Monthly bank reconciliations against bank statements
- Processing monthly expenses and petty cash claims
- Responsible for managing the weekly payment run process (approval max and Xero)
- Day-to-day financial administration
- Banking of cheques
- Day to day management of bank accounts, credit cards
- Managing control accounts for CAF and Justgiving
- Managing shopify, worldpay, stripe and other payment processing platforms
- Organising card machines for events
- Opening post and electronic filing
- Weekly franking of post, topping up funds when required and taking post to nearby post office
- First point of call for office mainline queries
- Ensuring stock of cleaning materials and kitchen supplies for office
Candidates applying for this role must have the following:
- AAT accounting qualification or equivalent
- Experience with Xero accounting software
- Understanding of VAT
- Experience of donations platforms, stripe, shopify
- An understanding of fund accounting, restrictions and unrestricted funds
- Enthusiastic and creative self-starter.
- Ability to multi-task
