Butler Rose are partnering with our Housing Association client based in Central London who are looking for a Finance Officer to join their Service charges team. This is a temporary opportunity up until May 2025 with hybrid working and paying up to £24.31 an hour through Umbrella.
As a Finance Officer - Service Charges, you will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity within the service charge department. You will support financial and administrative processes, ensuring accurate and efficient management of service charge transactions. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with experience in transactional finance, data reconciliation, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities: * Work closely with the Service Charge Finance Business Partner and Operations Teams to address queries related to service charge transactions. * Liaise with internal departments to support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses. * Manage and track service charge queries/complaints via the CRM system, allocating tasks and monitoring response times. * Assist in providing invoice backups and supporting documentation for services provided to residents. * Perform reconciliation of transactions related to various service charges. * Assist in the preparation of documentation required under Section 22 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 for resident inspections. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, procedures, and best practices in service charge finance. * Support continuous performance improvements within the finance function. * Handle large and complex data sets, ensuring accuracy and consistency across Excel and in-house systems.
Essential Skills & Experience: * Previous experience in a busy transactional finance team within a large customer-focused business. * Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and its accounting implications. * Experience working in a high-volume transactional environment, managing workloads efficiently. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex issues through data analysis. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. * High proficiency in Excel knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) preferred.
