An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer to work for a small Community Charity organisation. This is a fantastic role for someone with an accounting practice background, looking to build their career in the Charity sector.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Manage supplier invoicing and payments
  • Process bi-weekly payment runs for suppliers and staff/volunteers
  • Oversee sales invoicing and cash allocations (non-rental)
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations of control and balance sheets
  • Post monthly journals and manage banking cheques
  • Assist with monthly reconciliation of control accounts
  • Maintain petty cash and issue customer refunds
  • Reconcile purchase and sales ledgers in QuickBooks
  • Handle supplier queries and send out statements
  • Participate in ad-hoc financial projects

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in a finance role
  • Excellent working knowledge of QuickBooks and intermediate Excel skills
  • Working towards AAT, CIMA, CIPFA, or ACCA qualification
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
