The role is based in North Londonplease only apply if you are part-qualified and strong with month endMAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLEThe Finance Officer forms an essential part of the finance team responsible of maintaining of efficient and accurate accounting function to the Charity.KEY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Purchase ledger duties, managing the purchase order system, processing invoices and expenses and preparing payment and supplier reconciliations, dealing with supplier queries.
  • Responsible for the recording of petty cash transactions
  • Credit card processing, updating ledger and monthly reconciliation
  • Monthly Reconciliation of Accounts Receivables and chasing outstanding payment
  • Updating cashbook/ nominal ledger with payments and receipts
  • Working with Finance Manager to complete monthly bank reconciliations for review by Financial Controller (FC) / Finance Director (FD)
  • Monthly reconciliation of intercompany accounts
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns for review by FC/FD
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as directed by FD/ FC
  • Responsible for all filing to be done in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assisting with month end journals and preparation of management accounts and board packs.
  • Providing support to the Finance Manager and Financial controller.
  • Providing support/cover on SmartGiving daily consolidations, charity payment runs, bank transfers and other finance related matters.
  • Ad hoc tasks as requested by the Finance FD/FC

Person Specification

  • Part or fully qualified accountant, (ACA, ACMA, ACCA).
  • Experienced in Xero accounting package.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal with good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and prioritising skills, able to manage multiple tasks with an exceptional attention to detail.
  • Previous experience working within a charity is preferential.
