Financial Accountant (Banking/Fintech/Hybrid Working -12-Month Contract)

The Role

We are looking for a newly qualified Financial Accountant the Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term basis in London.

This is a hybrid role based in our London office (2-3 days in the office)

The successful applicant must be an Immediately Available Newly Qualified Accountant from Practice with Financial Services Clients/Experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the trial balance for our UK entities.
  • Execute the month-end close process, including journal entries, general ledger postings, and bank and intercompany reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Prepare detailed analyses of key general ledger account movements.
  • Ensure a robust control environment by conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Prepare both consolidated and stand-alone annual financial statements in accordance with FRS102.
  • Support external audit processes by preparing audit schedules and working papers.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT and tax regulations, including completing VAT returns and handling regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team to support group-level reporting and budgeting.
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency.
  • Contribute to various ad hoc finance projects as required.

Requirements

  • Immediately Available Newly Qualified Accountant from Practice
  • Financial Services Experience
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
  • Able to work within a fast-paced setting.
  • Full Right to work in the UK
