Your new organisation Working with one of the world's leading public health universities, the organisation has an international presence and works in research, teaching and impacts health policy and practice. Your new role The Financial Accountant will report to the Deputy Finance Director to ensure high-quality financial reporting and lead the external audit process. This role involves preparing financial statements, planning and delivering audits, and liaising with internal stakeholders to finalise figures and collate necessary information.Financial Reporting:
- Prepare financial statements for the school and subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with FRS102 and HE SORP.
- Plan and prepare for the year-end audit, coordinating with external auditors and colleagues.
- Submit financial information to external stakeholders like the Office for Students and insurance brokers.
Liaison and Networking:
- Act as the main contact for external auditors, managing timelines and deliverables.
- Provide training on technical guidance, processes, and policies.
- Liaise with internal auditors and ensure implementation of audit recommendations.
What you'll need to succeedYou will be a fully qualified accountant and will ideally have
- Knowledge of Accounting standards (FRS102) and their application (HE SORP knowledge desirable)
- Experience of Unit4 Agresso Business World finance system
- Strong year-end reporting experience
